Jahwin Dela Woollams is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and composer renowned for his unique fusion of African melodies with reggae and afrobeats.
Known for his distinct sound, clever lyricism, and a blend of pop and dancehall, Jahwin’s music captures the essence of urban Afro-culture, creating a vibe of his own.
Growing up in Ho, Ghana, Jahwin’s musical passion emerged early. As a young student, he would entertain his classmates by miming to the songs of Bob Marley, C.J. Lewis, Mark Morrison, Coolio, and Shinehead when his teacher was absent. His songwriting journey began in 2006 when he joined Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, where he balanced his marketing studies with his love for music. Influenced by P-Square, Collie Buddz, Sean Paul, and Damian Marley, he honed his craft and eventually launched his career as an independent artist. Since then, Jahwin has released popular singles like “Jump Jump,” “Bubble Up,” and “Follow Follow” and has performed on major stages in Ghana and the U.S.
In 2018, Jahwin took a break to pursue an MBA at Alcorn State University, Lorman, returning in 2020 with his hit single “Why You Wanna Go,” followed by “Soldier Vio,” a tribute to the late Ghanaian president, Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings. With the release of singles like “Hustlin’,” “Gone Till November,” and others, he continues to push the boundaries of global music culture, proudly highlighting the rise of African pop and Afrobeats in the Music City, Nashville.
